The Adidas retro basketball shoe Superstar

It’s Friday and a new weekend of dope sneaker releases is finally here. As always, this weekend’s drops will include a variety of styles and models, featuring coveted drops from Nike and adidas.Releasing between today and tomorrow, XXL‘s sneaker picks of this weekend include a new version of the Nike Air Max2 Uptempo, a collaboration from Converse and New York retailer Kith, the re-release of the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, an adidas nmd r1 PK and a new iteration of the NIke Air More Uptempo. Leading the way this weekend with the best release of the next two days will be Nike with the return of the popular Air Max2 Uptempo. Another shoe worth highlighting will be Converse’s latest collaboration with Kith on the high top Chuck Taylor shoes.

In addition to the patterned upper, these new adidas nmd r2 sneakers feature horizontal stitching where laces would be on more prehistoric kicks—a wink at the way sneakers used to look before Adidas booted them into the 22nd century. The Texas Longhorns–ish burnt orange color pops up on the NMD's signature molded supports on the midsole—but is more a complement to the white/black scheme than an ill-considered design flourish. And if you think the leopard print is just for show, well, okay, it is—but it's also weirder and cooler than it seems. Thanks to what Adidas calls its "Shadow Knit" technique, as the shoe turns, it changes how dark or light the leopard print appears.

The Adidas retro basketball shoe Superstar was the top selling sneaker in the United States in 2016. While sales of that model have slowed somewhat, Adidas has two new blockbuster shoes—the NMD Runner and the adidas tubular shadow knit, NPD says.On Tuesday, Under Armour shares slumped to a record-low after the company trimmed its sales forecast and said it would cut jobs and close stores as it struggles in a fast-changing and fiercely competitive U.S. sportswear market.Nike also announced in June that it would cut about 2% of its global workforce and eliminate a quarter of its shoe styles, to better compete in a slowing market.

Maybe these sports remind you of the nostalgic nineties. You are not going badly because, despite being futuristic shoes, the new Tubular are based on a prototype of Adidas released in the 90's and extracted from the files of the firm. Despite this, Adidas has also been inspired by his vision of the future, with a more minimalist and sober world. It was 1993 when the sports firm launched its first Tubular collection. The sports were a true technological jewel of the running of the decade. Twenty years later, the collection was reinvented, taking out in 2014 a new version of these sneakers, more contemporary. Now the firm has added four new versions to the collection: adidas tubular mujer, Tubular Viral, Tubular Weave and Tubular Nova.
